The Loves-Lies-Bleeding, 'Amaranthus caudatis', has crimson tassels that cascade to the ground from an exotic, showy, bushy plant. Dramatic, tropical, romantic, old-fashioned; they all describe Love-Lies-Bleeding. This plant was popular in colonial American and Victorian English gardens. The tassels can reach 18 inches and last for many weeks. Plant in the spring after last average frost date. They are excellent for fresh or dried flower arrrangements.
